20th Annual Buckman Art Show & Sell

Portlanders! Come & see me & my work along with the work of over 100 other local artists plus hundreds of kids' art at the 20th Annual Buckman Show & Sell this weekend! I'll have my newest mixed media work on wood for sale, along with prints & cards. And this year Indigo will have an original painting, 2 cards, and 2 bookmarks for sale along with her peers in the entranceway of the school.

This is truly one of the best art events in Portland--every year I am impressed by the quality of work being shown and honored to be a part of it. And the best part is that 30% of every sale goes to Buckman Elementary--a fantastic Arts magnet school that strives to integrate art into nearly every aspect of the curriculum. I can't wait to see you there!

Great Big Hole

Notice anything strange about my booth space at the Buckman sale last weekend? Like...the great big hole at the top? That's right! The Buckman Art Show and Sell went fabulously! I sold several things, including a favorite, "Autumn:"
18" x 24" Mixed media on masonite, 2008. All Rights Reserved.

It sold on Friday night, while I was at the Spoon show. So when I checked my email before heading to Buckman on Saturday, I had a note from Danielle, "Oh Yeah! Uh huh uh huh!" I thought, hmmm...what's going on here? And when I arrived at the show, there was my booth with a great big hole in it. Yay! I always love when my art finds a new home, and it was really great to sell a larger piece so I know Buckman will be getting some money (30% of all sales go to the school). Overall, the show was a blast, and I got to spend the day with Danielle:
and Leah:
And Chris, who's booth I tried to take a picture of but I ended up getting a bunch of goofy photos instead. :)

Spoon

After hanging out at Buckman for a little while and a super-yummy dinner at Hoda's, I got to go see Spoon last night at the Crystal Ballroom! It was awesome! Besides the fact that I think every 7-foot-tall man in Portland gathered in front of me, and some wacky girls dancing out of control and with no rhythm whatsoever for the first couple of songs were pretty distracting. But what the hell, I got some glimpses of the band and got to dance a bit so it was fantastic.

Now I'm getting some coffee in my system and getting ready to head over to Buckman for the day, so I hope I'll see you there!

Buckman Art Show & Sell

Yay! It's that time of year again! The Buckman Art Show & Sell, this coming weekend at Buckman Elementary. Stop by and check out all of the amazing art by Buckman kids and fabulous local artists, performances, food and more! Proceeds benefit Buckman, which has a special place in my heart as it is Indigo's school. My art will be up both days, but if you come Saturday, be sure to stop and say hi, 'cus I'll be there too. :)

Buckman Art Show & Sell

I can't believe a whole year has already gone by, but it's that time again! Time for the Buckman Art Show & Sell, a yearly fundraiser for Buckman Arts Focus Elementary School, where my daughter attends. Here is the low-down, copied from the website:

A student art gallery showcases the talents of Buckman's young artists, and hands-on kids' art activities keep the little ones busy while their parents shop!

This vibrant, beloved community event benefits the arts programs at Portland's Buckman Arts Focus Elementary School.

Where?
Buckman Elementary School

How much?
Friday $5 per person; Saturday $2 suggested donation per person
Free for kids age 4 and under

I would also like to add that 30% of all sales go directly to Buckman! Every year I am astounded by the high caliber of artists and artisans populating this show, not to mention the amazing art by Buckman student. Here is a photo of my booth from last year--this year will be even better with new paintings, aceo's, and some of my art pendants available as well. I hope to see you there!
