Guess Who?

Have I mentioned recently how much I love Portland? Especially on days like this, when it is cold but sunny. This Fall we have been lucky to have lots of extra sunny days! So today I dragged my friend Heather to the post office, then to Laurelhurst Park for a nice hefty walk.

That was when we ran into this amazing owl! What is he doing up at this hour?!? I don't know, but he was still there at the end of the walk (of course we had to swing back by and see him again). I was so enthralled that I actually dropped Heather off at her place, swung back by my place and got my camera, then went back for some photos. He was watching me watch him, which was even greater. Absolutely stunning.

Hello pretty pendants!

This cute lil' owl, along with all of his friends (aka my other art pendants) are receiving an upgrade this week! I have been unhappy with the little bails that I was using before--they were pretty but not as sturdy as I would like, and I really was never satisfied with the satin cords I was using. So! Thanks to my drill (I ♥ power tools!), all of my pendants will now have jumprings and come on your choice of color of organza ribbon, with a sterling silver lobster-claw clasp. Now they are prettier than ever, and durable enough even for smaller children (since they seem to have appeal to kids and grownups alike). They also come in sweet little pillow boxes that I made myself. Yay!

In addition, I am offering the ribbon necklaces by themselves in my shop for only $3 each or ten for $25, so if you have some pendants that need a necklace to hang on, stop by and pick one up!

Before I go...

I'm getting ready to go on a mini-vacation this weekend to Lake Shasta with Indigo, Steve, and his family. Yay! His dad, stepmom, and little sister are in town from the UK this week so I finally get to meet them. His sister is about Indigo's age, so they will have a blast I'm sure.

Before I go, I just wanted to say that I've finally come up with great color scheme for my pendants that I am SO happy with! The ones you see above also come in elephants, and as of next Wednesday (9/19), they will also come in giraffes! How cute is that?!? They are all drawn by hand by me, and I have updated the listings with more photos, including great close-ups, and examples of how they look when worn. So take a look! And if you can't make up your mind, you could always start up a collection....... ;)
